It’s the next step in efforts to build a First Nations civic cultural centre at the old Stuart Wood School in Kamloops.
The Tk’emlúps te Secwèpemc First Nation and the city are looking to build an aboriginal civic culture centre at the 100 year old school in the downtown core.
Chief Administrative Officer David Trawin says both sides will meet August 29th to plot strategy.
“I think its the initial meeting to kind of move to the next steps after the workshop we had at Stuart Wood to move forward. So just taking the next step.”
There are two major issues to resolve before the parties can move forward, determine ownership of the former elementary school and decide how to proceed to acquire the money to build such a facility.
