The Kamloops Blazers have announced their 2018 training camp dates.
The weekend will start with registration and fitness testing on Thursday, August 23rd with on ice sessions beginning on Friday, August 24th and ending on Monday, August 27th.
All returning, listed and free agent players will be split into four teams that will compete for the 1st annual Blazers Cup. The Blazers Cup will be awarded to the winner of the 1st vs. 2nd place game on August 27th.
The Blazers Cup will be a trophy handed out annually at training camp that represents all alumni. Every season, the hockey club will choose distinguished alumni to name their four training camp teams. One team will be announced on social media each day starting on Monday, August 20th to the start of training camp on Thursday, August 23rd.
The training camp schedule will include practices from 8:00am-12:45pm and games from 4:00pm-7:45pm on August 24th, 25th and 26th. Training camp will conclude with a 3rd vs. 4th place game on Monday, August 27th at 8:30am and the 1st vs. 2nd place game at 10:30am.
Registration and ice sessions will all be held at the Sandman Centre. All ice sessions are open and free to attend for the public.
The Blazers will start their WHL preseason with a home game against the Prince George Cougars on Friday, August 31st and a home game against the Victoria Royals on Saturday, September 1st at the Sandman Centre. Game times will be 7:00pm.
