A well known Thompson Rivers University researcher has received a huge 2.5 million dollar federal and B.C mining industry grant.
Dr. Lauchlan Fraser says part of his work will involve reclamation of fire devastated areas to help decrease the amount of time it takes to a grow a new tree.
“A lot of our research is going to be focus on adding additions to the soil to help increase the health of the soil and the nutrients in the soil.”
Along with these industry and community pledges valued at nearly $1.8 million, today’s announcement marks a federal investment of $875,000, and is one of the largest research grants in TRU’s history.
