As Kamloops begins its 2019 budget deliberations this fall, its already facing increased costs, which it has no control over.
The higher price tag is on two fronts, totalling 1.5 million dollars.
One property tax point represents 1.1 million dollars.
Chief Administrative Officer David Trawin says, the elimination of the Medical Services Plan Premiums but the addition of the new Health Payroll tax will represent an increase annually in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“I have got the full numbers now its seven hundred thousand dollars, you know two hundred of that basically is ongoing on that.”
Trawin says the cost of unionization of the RCMP remains uncertain but the impact of the adding officers in Kamloops will run an extra 800 thousand dollars.
