The search is on again today north of Kamloops for a missing small plane with two people on board.
Lieutenant Tony Wright with the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre says the weather is cooperating today with clear skies and low winds. He says they are concentrating on an area on the Highway 5 corridor between Chilliwack and Valemount.
“So I don’t have a number on percentages. Our initial search focused on kind of a corridor along Highway 5 between Chilliwack and Valemount. So we’ve really zeroed in on the Blue River area now. And that’s due to some cell tower information and radar information that we have.”
The Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre said it was notified around 2 p.m. last Friday that a small private aircraft with two people aboard flying from Edmonton to Chilliwack was overdue.
