If you are heading to the coast from Kamloops, Environment Canada has a warning for you.
Forecaster Matt McDonald says a vigorous weather system will hit the Coquihalla between Hope and Merritt, Merritt to Kamloops and the Connector this afternoon.
“We can expect sudden intense accumulations of snow anywhere from five to ten centimetres.”
McDonald says the temperature in the higher mountain passes is expected to drop to about minus three.
“These type of clouds they are almost like thunderstorms. you know they deliver heavy intense downbursts of snow. so you could be driving through kind of bluish skies at one minute and then the next you know its this intense burst of snow that will almost kill visibility.”
The weather system should break this evening between six to eight.
