The new boss at Interior Health says sustainability is her top priority across the health region.

The chief administrative officer of IH Susan Brown met the media in Kamloops at Royal Inland Hospital for the first time yesterday since she began her job in late October.

Brown says she wants to improve surgery wait times and build on mental health and substance use strategies and on Aboriginal health.

“One of the things that we will be looking at in addition to those is just our culture within our workplace, is building pride in what we do.”

Brown adds that safety in the workplace for staff is also a top priority.
