UPDATE: 1:40 p.m.
A Kamloops man was found guilty of second-degree murder today for a killing in a Dallas RV Park last winter.
A jury came down with the verdict today for Stephen Fraser, who stabbed Cody Foster to death in February of 2017. The 12-person jury began deliberations just before noon yesterday, before retiring late in the evening and resuming at 9:30 a.m. today.
Foster was 26 at the time of his death. Many of his family members were present in the courtroom during Fraser’s murder trial, which began on Nov. 28.
His older sister Dana Foster says there’s “no words” to describe the feeling of missing her brother.
“The most amazing person in the world, he was a light in this world. He loved and cared about everyone and everything. The most unselfish person I’ve ever met, he was just the greatest thing in the world,” Dana told media through tears outside the courtroom.
Supreme Court Justice Len Marchand will fix a date to hand down a sentence for Fraser on Jan. 7. His conviction comes with a minimum 10-year sentence.
