The Kamloops Thompson School District is by in large in compliance with class size and composition mandates.
Assistant Superintendent Bill Hamblett says out of over 16-hundred classroom only 10 were found to be in violation.
He says in those 10 cases steps have to be taken as mandated.
“The remedy would be articulated through the collective agreement. That would be the case of maybe providing some additional prep for that teacher for example. Now those classes, across the district, would need to be monitored.”
Hamblett says each fall the ministry requires school districts to submit a compliance snapshot.
Editors Note: Angelo Iacobucci passed away December 14th. While we work through our tremendous loss he continues to be a big part of Radio NL as he always will be. We have found a folder of almost 30 stories he had prepared for the holiday season. This is one of them.
