The City of Kamloops wants to hear from you in what is being called a “Transportation Choices Strategy.”
City transportation engineer Elnaz Ansari says they want to figure out how people are coming downtown and how they get around when they arrive.
“The project is all about identifying strategies and programs to encourage residents to consider walking, cycling, taking the bus or carpooling rather than driving alone in a personal vehicle everyday to the downtown.
Ansari says it is not just about the usual vehicle traffic.
“We’re also needing to work with the business owners in the downtown to gather their interest in supporting their staff, who may be interested in changing the way they travel to work.”
The city is gathering feedback using an online survey and during an open house at the Sandman Signature Hotel, Jan. 15 from 5 to 8 p.m.
