There were no injuries after a vehicle fire on the Trans Canada Highway earlier this morning.
Kamloops Fire and Rescue responded just before 9:30 AM this morning after a Jeep was fully engulfed on the westbound lanes of the highway, on the Peterson Creek Bridge.
Assistant Fire Rob Schoular says it was the vehicle driver who called 911.
“He had mentioned during the transmission that there was a bystander on the scene with a fire extinguisher and that our services may not have been required,” he said.
“We responded anyway and arrived to find the vehicle fully involved.”
The highway was cleared around 10:30 AM, according to Argo Roads Thompson.
