The Kamloops-Thompson School District is inching closer on making a decision whether to close one elementary school and perhaps re-open a closed one.
Kathleen Karpuk says the district wants to gather feedback both in person and online about possibly re-opening Westsyde Elementary.
“The board passed a motion to begin the consultation process around re-opening Westsyde Elementary,” she said. “We have set a date for community consultation for January 30th.”
“That will be happening at David Thompson Elementary at 7:00 pm.”
In the case of Westwold Elementary, people still have time to register their two cents online before the board decides whether or not to close it.
“We had our community consultation at Westwold in December,” she added. “We have our comment period that will be closing on the 19th of January.”
Karpuk says the decision on Westsyde will be made sometime in March.
In the case of Westwold, the decision will be made on January 28th.
