The RCMP in Vernon North Okanagan are investigating a serious assault in Vernon yesterday.

A 58-year-old man was found with serious, but non-life threatening injuries at a house in the 3000 block of 28th Ave., in Vernon.

Six people were taken into custody without incident after police linked it to a house in the 1700 block of 33rd St., but three were later released.

Police are in the early stages of their investigation, but they believe the assault was targeted.

The unnamed victim is expected to recover from his injuries.
