A new bus service will help connect people in Kamloops to the Abbotsford International Airport.
Saskatchewan-based Rider Express launched a new bus service from Kamloops to Vancouver on Monday, which includes a stop at YXX.
The airport’s general manager Parm Sidhu says the new bus helps get people to the terminal easier.
“What we’ve got is the emergence of ultra-low-cost carriers. Swoop and Flair really lowering the price of air tickets. And with that the reach is becoming further and further away. We’re getting people from Penticton to Princeton, even places like Whistler using our airport.”
Sidhu says Rider Express will stop at the airport once per day in both directions.
“So ground transportation is a very key element, and Rider Express now just gives you another option. So you could go take a bus from Kamloops to Abbotsford and hop on a flight and away you go, and vice versa,” he says. “All we’re doing is giving consumers more options.”
He points out that Ebus also stops at the Abbotsford Internationl Airport four times a day which runs routes from Kamloops as well.
