“Just get on with it already.”
That is one Green Party MLA’s take on the contentious ridesharing issue in the province.
Adam Olsen sits on the special legislative ride sharing committee and while the Liberals and NDP play the blame game he says it is time to get ridesharing companies in the game.
As for what the committee is doing to inform eventual provincial ride-sharing regulations.
“None of the information we are seeing today is any different than what the committee saw last year,” he said. “The options are still the same options. The information is still the same information.”
“We are going to provide recommendations on four key aspects of this industry, which are critical to the industry being able to exist as a disruptive tech transportation option.”
The province, after twice delaying implementation, has promised to open the doors to companies like Uber this fall.
Olsen says it is well past time to make that happen.
