It feels like it’s been forever, but Environment Canada is calling for a return to near normal temperatures in Kamloops next week.
The day time high for next Monday and Tuesday is 10 C, right on par with normal temperatures for this time of year.
Meteorologist Bobby Sekhon says before we get there, expect some snow in Kamloops.
“We’re not expecting too much snow but it’s certainly about 5 cm that is possible for Kamloops tonight into tomorrow,” he said. “And then also on the Coquihalla, a couple of centimetres tonight as well.”
Sekhon adds the snow shouldn’t cause too much trouble for drivers, but he’s advising people to stay updated with the latest forecast and road conditions on Drive BC.
“Overnight lows as well, Sunday night we’re forecasting -2 C, which is bang on to the normal low for this time of year for Kamloops,” he added.
“Things are – both for high and low temperatures – trending towards the seasonal average.”
Sekhon adds they’re not expecting a lot of wind as well, and so the wind chill shouldn’t be a huge concern either as we head closer to spring.
“With temperatures that far above 0 C, wind chill won’t be a huge concern,” he said.
Today’s day time high is around 1 C, which is about 8 C below normal.
