The first-ever brew pub on the North Shore has gotten a green light from Kamloops council.
City council has supported a liquor license for Bright Eye Brewing, which will now go out for public notification.
The business is is expected to open sometime this spring, located on the ground floor of a new six-storey condo building at 292 Tranquille Road, called The Station.
North Shore Business Improvement Association executive director Jeremy Heighton says the brew pub will be a great addition to the Tranquille corridor.
“I think Bright Eye Brewing is just another example of some of the trendy, innovative businesses that are being attracted to the North Shore at this time. It’s nice that it’s in a new-build location, which has typically not had this type of restauranteur type of activity, at least down at this end of the Tranquille corridor as there is at the other end,” Heighton says.
“I think that Bright Eye Brewing is a great community partner, the ownership team is partially from Red Beard. They’re also opening up a new coffee shop as well just a little bit up the corridor… Bright Eye will be unique because it is a brewhouse, kind of like the Noble Pig idea. So it’s creating a dynamic community space.”
Bright Eye Brewing will have 76 seats indoors and a patio with 34 seats.
