As the city continues work on their downtown masterplan, an improved transit system is on the radar for students at Thompson Rivers University.
“Transit was something that I brought up personally,” said TRU Students’ Union Vice President External, Cole Hickson, talking about his vision for Kamloops.
“Improving that is always going to be a big thing for students here in Kamloops.”
Hickson says another issue on his radar is more housing options for students at TRU.
“You know they just had discussions about secondary suites and how we can kind of bring in more supply to Kamloops,” he said. “I think that we are heading in the right direction there, and I’m impressed with the way that we’re moving forward along with these projects so far.”
He notes there’s always room for improvement, saying there are a couple of housing projects underway at the university to increase some housing options for students.
