Police in Kamloops are looking for suspects after the Esso gas station on Columbia Street West was robbed early yesterday morning.
There were no injuries to the clerk, but police say two men demanded they be given money from the cash register.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the men were armed.
“One of the suspects had what appeared to be a handgun, and the other suspect had what appeared to be a can of pepper spray,” she said. “The suspects left the gas station with cash from the register and headed northbound on foot.”
The first suspect is described as wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and having a white bandana covering his face. The second is described as wearing a black and tan jacket black pants and having a black bandana covering his face.
“There wasn’t likely much traffic on the road at that time, but certainly if somebody was travelling on Columbia Street West, they would have noticed probably two men running down the street, because there is so little foot traffic,” noted Shelkie.
Shelkie adds there’s no evidence to link this robbery to the other recent ones in the city, but says they’re asking for any and all help from the public to try and solve them.
