There will be more mountain biking on offer at Sun Peaks this summer, after a pilot project last year.
That’s according to Sun Peaks Resort Chief Marketing Officer, Aidan Kelly, who was speaking on the Woodford Show on Radio NL.
He says they’re also going to be investing about $350,000 this year.
“That’s on top of the couple hundred thousand dollars that we invested last year, and we’ve done a whole sort of rebrand and repositioning project at Sun Peaks,” said Kelly.
“There’s also a community association that’s ramped up that I’ve been working with on the cross country trail side. We’re all systems go on the mountain biking.”
He added they have a variety of trails on offer now for mountain bikers of all skill levels.
“From you know the families that are just figuring it out to the existing trails that we already had, which were hey, ‘if you get off the lift up top, you better know how to ride the bike down,'” noted Kelly.
“It’s pretty intense, so now we’re going to have a much more well rounded product. When you expand the mountain bike product, that’ll bring more people in to engage with those activities.”
Kelly believes that it’s going to a good summer of mountain biking at Sun Peaks Resort, but says they’re also keeping an eye out for things like the wildfire seasonm which can have an impact.
