The Premier is closing the door on growing speculation from BC Liberals that he might call an early election.
Speaking on NL’s Inside #bcpoli John Horgan was asked directly about the online chatter and whether or not an early election call was on the table or if he was ruling it out.
“I have no intention of calling an election. I believe we got an endorsement from the public in the by-election in Nanaimo. I have been travelling around B.C. in the past couple of weeks I have been in the north, in Smithers, I have been in the south Okanagan, I have been in Kelowna, I am here in Kamloops, and I was out in Merritt and no one is talking about an election.”
Horgan says he is hearing mostly positive feedback from people about what his government is doing reinforcing his feeling there is no reason for an early election.
B.C. has, by legislation, fixed election dates with the current NDP government moving that date from the spring to the fall currently scheduled for October 16th., 2021.
