Another successful radiothon for the Royal Inland Foundation is in the books, with around $121,000 raised yesterday, at the latest update.
That figure is 20 per cent more than the original goal of $100,000 goal for this year.
Foundation CEO Heidi Coleman says a number of people continued to donate after at 6 p.m.
“The volunteers were incredible, the people that came in walking in off the street, the calls that came in, it was just fantastic,” she said on the NL Morning News today. “Calls from all over you know the TNRD.”
“It was so much fun on social media, it was really a festive day. It was a lot of fun.”
All of the money raised will stay at Royal Inland Hospital.
“So this is going to buy some beds, this is going to buy some ventilators, it’s going to help some of that ICU in the palliative care project,” Coleman added. “We will plaque it with a radiothon so people will know how it was bought.”
“I know Tracey [Rannie], the head of the hospital was so excited. It’s clear this is equipment that she needs, and we’re going to buy it for her.”
