
There’s been much talk of the opioid epidemic in the province but the crisis reaches from coast to coast.
In a period of just over 20 months, from January 2016 to September of last year, ten thousand Canadians have died of drug overdoses. The Opposition Shadow Minister of Health doesn’t think the Feds are doing enough.
Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu says there just aren’t enough resources for addicts to recover “The real answer is when they have the desire to get into recovery and get their lives back, that we have those spaces available to get them right in.”
Gladu accuses the Liberals of putting band-aids on the problem. She says the federal government needs to work with the provinces and municipalities to build the recovery spaces needed.
