
Over 400 kilometres of roads in the Southern Interior will be resurfaced in the Southern Interior this year.
Several of the projects planned are in and around the Kamloops area.
There will be resurfacing work done on Highway 5 from the Yellowhead Interchange to CN Junction, the Highway 1 bypass from the Yellowhead Interchange to Columbia Street, as well as areas through the Valleyview corridor and various on and off ramps.
In all, the province is investing over $70 million on road improvements in the Southern Interior this year.
Other planned projects include:
- 20 kilometres on Highway 1 near Revelstoke – from the Revelstoke Park East Gate to Glacier Park West Gate.
- Near Salmon Arm – numerous side roads west of Highway 1 and east of Highway 97, including Salmon Valley Road, McTavish Road, Yankee Flats Road and Haywood Armstrong Road.
- 34 kilometres on Highway 1, resurfacing two sections from Annis Pit to Malakwa near Sicamous.
- 30 kilometres of intermittent resurfacing on Highway 97 from Clinton to Lac La Hache and side roads.
- 39 kilometres of intermittent hot-in-place asphalt recycling on Highway 97 from Loon Lake Road to Clinton and from Lovett Road to Wright Station.
- 67 kilometres on Highway 97C, resurfacing from Lower Nicola to Logan Lake and Tunkwa Lake Road between Savona and Tunkwa Lake.
