With management of the Paramount Theatre changing hands, and the ongoing renovation work, there are plans to get a liquor licence for the facility.
However, Kamloops Film Society Executive Director Dusan Magdolen says they don’t want to rush into a decision.
“We’ll see what sort of makes sense,” he told Radio NL. “Me personally, in this moment, I don’t know that I just want people to have to drink in the lobby and then not be able to bring drinks in.”
“We’ll have to figure out whether it makes sense for the space, but it’s definitely on the table as an option.”
The Film Society has plans to renovate the theatre lobby and the concessions offered when they reopen part time on June 1.
Construction and other upgrades will take place through the month of May, and a grand opening is planned for later in the fall.
Magdolen says the changes they have envisioned for the theatre will take time because of financial and other constraints.
