For people with depression or anxiety, everyday life can be terribly challenging.
The Bounce Back program is a free resource from the Canadian Mental Health Association that supports self help and focuses on cognitive behavioural therapy.
The idea behind it is, they way we think, the things we do, our behaviour and the way we feel are all interconnected.
As Carmella Smythe of the CMHA explains it’s small steps that lead to improvements to a person’s quality of life, “In order to feel better, we don’t have to do a huge overhaul in our lives in every single area.”
She goes on to say, “We can take one or two areas, little things, and those little changes can effect to whole circle because everything is so connected.”
Smythe added if we take on too much it can lead to a big let down for someone that’s struggling with stress and worry.
