If you’re thinking of giving up cigarettes, this would be the day to do it.
Today is world no tobacco day and even the tobacco industry admits vaping is the lesser of two evils.
Eric Gagnon of Imperial Tobacco Canada says tough regulations make it challenging not only for people to get vaping products but to get information from retailers. “These products have to be hidden from public view, you’re not allowed to talk about it and this is what we believe makes if very difficult for people who would want to quit to know that their is an alternative out there.”
Ganon admits the vast majority of smokers would like to quit and research shows vaping is 95 per cent safer than cigarettes, and by endorsing vaping products they can help people that want to give up the habit, quit.
He adds vaping products should never be available to kids and only adults trying to quit smoking.
