Ebus says if it is approved to operate a new bus route from Kamloops to West Kelowna it would only need about a couple weeks to get busses on the road.
Director of business development John Stepovy says the equipment and relationships are in place which would make for a quick turnaround.
His company has an application before the Passenger Transportation Board for the new bus route, which will go through the Shuswap and North Okanagan.
“Communities would like to see us there, and so it’s just about finalizing a few of those logistical items once we do have our approval, and we’ll be set to go. So hopefully in the not-too-distant future… From our standpoint, it would be a fairly short turnaround. So it could be a couple weeks until we get all our locations down pat and signed off on.”
Several communities east of Kamloops, including Chase, have been without long-haul bus service since Greyhound left last year.
