One person was taken to hospital after a three vehicle crash in Barriere last Thursday around 11 a.m., on the Yellowhead Highway at Hall Road.
In a release last night, police say a northbound white Hyundai which was waiting to turn left was hit from behind by a semi truck. That pushed the Hyundai into oncoming traffic, causing a second collision.
The driver of the Hyundai had to be extricated by the Barriere Fire Department, while the driver of the semi was charged under the Motor Vehicle Act for driving without due care and attention.
The highway was closed for about 45 minutes due to the cleanup and subsequent investigation.
