A near head-on crash between two semi trucks on the Yellowhead Highway was caught on video earlier this week.
The video, posted below, was taken automatically by a cell phone, set up on a commercial trucker’s cradle mount, at about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, heading north on Highway 5 between Clearwater and Avola.
The footage shows the commercial truck being passed by another semi despite there being a solid yellow lane for the northbound lane. The passing truck narrowly avoids colliding head-on with another semi coming in the southbound lane.
The person who recorded the incident says similar passes happened five times during his trip, all within the Thompson-Nicola Regional District boundaries. “This one was just the closest near-miss.”
They say the truck involved in the near-miss belonged to Dolphin Delivery, which is based out of Abbotsford.
