The first phase of the MacArthur Island golf course refurbishing is winding up and part of it is already open to the public.
The old mini golf course is open, the disc course is done and being tested and should be open soon.
City of Kamloops Sustainability & Civic Facilities Manager Jeff Putnam is happy with the way the disc course has turned out. “It’s phenomenal. They’re saying it’s one of the nicest in Western Canada.”
“In fact the gentleman that flew up from Kansas City to design the course, he’s a professional disc golf designer, and he was saying it’s one of the nicest layouts he’s ever designed so he was really excited about it too.”
Putnam says perhaps the best feature of both courses is no green fees, it’s free for every one.
