A recent poll about the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project has a couple of surprises in it.
Conservative supporters were a resounding 75 percent in favour of the Feds decision to go ahead with the project, not exactly a shocker there.
What was astonishing, according to Angus Reid’s Dave Korzinski, was the results from the traditionally left leaning party supporters. “To see NDP and Green supporters as pretty equally divided on this, with almost four in tens, right around that forty percent mark saying that this is actually the right decision, that actually was a bit surprising.”
“I thought it would lean quite a bit the other way with a lot of those people saying it was the wrong call and they would have liked to see the project rejected.”
Korzinski added it will be interesting how the Horgan government reacts going forward, knowing almost two thirds of British Columbians are in favour of the Trans Mountain Expansion project.
