The renovations on McArthur Island are coming along well with over two kilometres of new trails among other things
The re-purposing of the McIsland golf course into a disc golf course is one of the main components to the renovations, and Kamloops Park Supervisor Shawn Cook says the course is almost ready to go.
“They have to finalize the signage for each hole, so same as golf right, there’s a sign with length so we’re just waiting on that and then hopefully going to be an official opening in early fall.”
Cook says a lot of people are already taking advantage of the amenities.
“There’s a lot of that are going to the park and parking there and playing mini golf and then they decide to go for a walk through the park,”he said, on the NL Morning News.
“There’s a lot of people that already walk to loop trail at McArthur Island that now go through there as well.”
He’s expecting those numbers to increase once all of the work is done.
