Surrey RCMP now say foul play may be a factor in the disappearance of two men last seen in mid-July.
A search warrant was executed on a rural property in Spences Bridge today that police believe Ryan Provencher and Richard Scurr were travelling to when they were last seen on July 17.
Cpl. Elenore Sturko says investigators still believe the two men made it to Spences Bridge.
“The length of time and the fact that it is unusual for Ryan and Richard to have gone this period of time without contacting family or friends or associates is unusual,” she said. “It is suspicious and our officers are considering that foul play may be a factor in this investigation.”
The property searched was the location of a business associated to Ryan Provencher.
Their white Jeep Cherokee was found on July 21 near Logan Lake with no signs of foul play, and police say the vehicle was examined further in Kamloops.
“A review of what was located or what type of evidence is being undertaken,” she said. “The investigation is progressing.”
Police are asking anyone with information to reach out to Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or to Crimestoppers.
