It’s one of the biggest weekends of the year in Kamloops as Hot Night in the City rolls into the downtown and Ribfest takes over Riverside Park.

Ribfest spokes person Bryce Herman says there’s something for everyone all weekend long. “In the afternoon we’re gonna have what we call a happy hour which in going to be on half racks of ribs are gonna be four dollars off between one and four in the afternoon to get a few people down in the early afternoon on Sunday.”

“We’ll have ‘sling it Sunday’ so four of the local micro breweries are going to be serving up their bubbly fair.”

Saturday features dragon boat races on the Thompson river, while Friday night has a laser light show downtown.

There are also a variety of musical acts at the Rotary band shell in Riverside.
