The TNRD area Pritchard-area Director says he’s been given assurances that road repairs in will get underway this month.
Ken Gillis says like him, residents have raised concerns about the condition of Martin Prairie Road and Duck Range Road among others after a devastating spring break up – the worst Gillis has ever seen.
He says the road repair contractor AIM Roads took over in April, and have been getting their feet wet since then.
“There’s no repaving scheduled as far as I know, but there are extensive and comprehensive repairs about to be undertaken in the month of August and that is encouraging for the people who have been dodging major potholes for the last five or six months.”
Gillis says he’s seen pictures of some of the work that’s already been done, and he’s been impressed by it adding he’s optimistic there’ll be an improvement in the level of road maintenance in the future.
“Winter is coming again,” Gillis noted. “I have to say again when JPW did the winter maintenance, I was always very very happy with the maintenance they did in my area, and I’m hoping that will continue for the coming winter.”
