A middle-school teacher in Kamloops has been suspended after kissing a former student on the neck.
According to a discipline outcome from the Ministry of Education, Brett Wasylik was suspended for actions at a local restaurant involving a hostess who was a former student. When he noticed the former student, he approached her and had a conversation, during which he told her she looked “f****** hot.”
Wasylik hugged the former student, showed her a professionally-taken shirtless picture of himself on his cell phone, and later called her over to his table several times. When she was done her shift, Wasylik walked her to her car with his arm around her, and kissed her on the neck before she got into her vehicle.
“As they were leaving, the Former Student used gestures to convey to a co-worker that she was uncomfortable with the situation… He was aware that she was uncomfortable,” the discipline outcome reads.
Afterwards, restaurant management did not allow Wasylik back inside.
He was suspended for three days without pay when the incident happened, in November of 2016, and has now been suspended two more days to be served before the end of October.
