
A 34-year-old man was arrested at a downtown motel after what appears to be a vandalism spree last night
Kamloops RCMP got several calls around 10 p.m. about a man in a suspicious vehicle which was reportedly involved in a hit and run and then abandoned in the 400-block of Columbia Street.
Shortly after, police say they began getting calls about a man allegedly smashing windows and damaging vehicles at a downtown motel.
Police say a man had barricaded himself in a room. There were heavy police presence in the area, but with the help of a police service dog the man was apprehended after a short time.
The BC Prosecution Service will be determining what the charges he could be facing.
