A successful Pride Weekend in Kamloops with a 17 per cent increase in the number of people who marched this year compared to 2018’s parade.
Kamloops Pride says 1,409 people registered to march this past Sunday, with 57 registered groups and organizations.
“Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers, sponsors, supporters and the community of Kamloops for coming out in full colour,” a post said on the Kamloops Pride facebook page.
In its third edition this year, the parade festival venue was moved from Riverside Park to Stuart Wood School, and the festival could remain there in future years.
As for next year’s parade, volunteers will begin those discussions this fall.
