A Canadian Pacific spokesperson says a CP freight train struck a person on the tracks near Highland Drive this morning around 6:30 a.m.
Salem Woodrow, in an email, says the investigation is still ongoing.

Kamloops RCMP are currently on scene investigating after a person was found dead after on the train tracks in Valleyview.
“I can confirm that we’re investigating a deceased person on the train tracks in Valleyview, located across from Highland Road,” said Cpl. Jodi Shelkie.
Police have few other details to release at the moment, but say more information is expected later today.
Vehicle traffic through the area on Highway 1 might be a little slow, as a result of the investigation.
