BC RCMP have laid charges in connection to a 19-year-old cold case involving a missing Kamloops woman, and mother of two daughters.
Superintendent Jeanette Thiesen says 52-year-old Trent Larsen was arrested in Kamloops on Sept. 15 and has been charged with second-degree murder, in connection to the disappearance of Angel Fehr in April of 2000.
Thiesen says Fehr and Larsen were dating when she went missing, after an Easter Dinner in Abbotsford with family.
“This past weekend, at a rural property just outside of 100 Mile House, Angel’s body was located. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the owner of that property, who is completely unrelated to this crime,” she says. “He not only cooperated with investigators, but assisted by providing equipment to aid in the recovery of Angel’s body. This individual and his family were invaluable to investigators. He has requested not to be contacted and for continued privacy.”
Fehr was 27 at the time of her disappearance, had two children and was pregnant with a third.
The case was handed over to the RCMP’s Major Crimes Unit, with several policing partners and specialized units helping in uncovering information that led to the charges.
“Angel was never forgotten, and investigators have always remained determined to locate her,” Thiesen adds.
Larsen, who lived with Fehr when she disappeared, remains in custody and he has another court appearance in Kamloops on Sept. 30.
