
The last fire restriction in the province is being lifted as of noon today.
Category 3 open fires will once again be allowed throughout the Cariboo Fire Centre, due to improved weather conditions and a decreased wildfire risk.
Anyone hoping to burn anything larger than two metres high by three metres wide or burning stubble or grass greater than 0.2 hectares in size, is asked to first get a burn registration number by calling 1-888-797-1717.
People are being urged to observe local site conditions and to monitor current and predicted weather forecasts prior to doing any burning. They’re also being urged to check local venting conditions ahead of time.
Burning anything other than clean woody debris requires a permit or approval from the Ministry of Environment.
