There were 48 thefts from motor vehicles in Kamloops last week from Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, according to Kamloops RCMP.
That is down from the previous week of Sept. 23 to 29 where there were 62 reports, and 73 thefts the week before that.
Most of the city’s neighbourhoods were targeted including Brock, Aberdeen, Westsyde, Upper Sahali, Dallas, Rayleigh, and Juniper Ridge. Not on the map are one theft each in Rayleigh and Dallas, as well as in the rural area of the city.
There was a concentration however off the Tranquille Corridor on the North Shore, and downtown near the Hospital.
RCMP began releasing the maps in July in a bid to raise awareness about where thefts are taking place.
