A fire last night at the Public Works yard in Kamloops was contained to just the truck where it started.
Kamloops Fire Rescue platoon captain Darryl Cooper says crews were called to the yard on Concordia Way at 6:30 p.m., where a truck was on fire in one of the garages.
“Fire investigators found that garbage gets blown around and gets into the engine department, and that probably started the fire, diesel regeneration. The fire was confined to the garbage truck, the building had sprinklers so it prevented the fire from spreading. No one was injured on scene.”
Cooper also says garbage pick-up this morning for people in Kamloops was not interrupted as a result.
