A Cache Creek couple is shocked after winning $500,000 after they matched all four Extra numbers in the October 2 Lotto 6/49 draw.

“Super shock, complete disbelief and just really happy,” said Sandra Morgan after she and her husband, William Morgan, found out they were winners.

The pair bought the ticket at the Lottery Ticket Centre in Northills Centre, and they say they are glad they started saying ‘yes’ to the Extra.

“I was at the grocery store and Sandra went shopping when I decided I should check my tickets,” added William. “When it said we won, I thought there was a glitch and had to get Sandra to check it again. We always enjoy buying the Lotto because it goes to a good cause. But we only started buying the Extra three months ago because we kept hearing of people winning on the Extra numbers.”

The couple recently celebrated their 50th anniversary, and William says they will likely celebrate it some more.

They are also planning a trip to Hawaii to visit family, and Las Vegas to go to some sporting events.
