Kamloops Mayor Ken Christian gave a pep talk to the elite of the business community last night at a meeting attended by 100 people offering up some new information on future initiatives and challenges.
“The city of Kamloops is having an awakening, there’s a good vibe there is a new start in Kamloops.”
Speaking to the Chamber of Commerce Christian delivered an address extolling the virtues of the River City covering everything from building permits to affordable housing outlining a long list of what the city has and will do in the future to promote development. Christian announced a new float plane dock is ready for service.
“You may not know this but Kamloops has one of the few airports that has access for float planes directly into aircraft servicing and aircraft maintenance.”
The airport will be the site of a rainbow crosswalk to raise awareness and acceptance of all people.
“We have had lots of talk about rainbow crosswalks. we are going to have the fifth one in Kamloops will be at the airport and I think it speaks to the diversity and acceptance of the population of Kamloops.”
Christian says, the city is in for a strong economy as council lays the groundwork to attract future development through various initiatives.
