There were no injuries after a house fire on Beach Crescent in Chase last night.
Fire Chief Brian Lauzon says crews were called to the house just after 10 p.m. last night to find the upper floor fully engulfed.
“They knocked it down rather quickly and the upper story is probably a total write off,” he said. “We saved the lower portion of the structure. There will be smoke and water damage down there, but the rest of the structure is okay.”
Lauzon says there was one person in the house at the time of the fire, but they were able to get out in time.
“I’ll be doing my investigation later on today, and hopefully after talking to witnesses and the homeowner, and in doing our investigation, we’ll find our area of origin and what might have caused the fire,” he added.
Lauzon also says no neighbouring structures that were damaged as crews were also able to keep the fire contained to just the affected house.
