The Owner of Country Auto Sales on 8th Street in Kamloops says three vehicles on his lot were destroyed by an arsonist.

Gary Brunet says he caught the individual on his security cameras.

“Somebody poured gas on the vehicles and set them on fire…. looks like a male, but he had a hoodie on and he’s all dressed in black so you can’t really identify him.”

Kamloops Fire officials say they responded to the incident just before 7:00 this morning and the vehicles were fully engulfed when they got there.

Platoon Captain Darryl Cooper says the situation was handled quickly.

“Under control in 10 minutes and then probably within 30 minutes it was out…. Car explosion, there were a couple of explosions,” he said. “Probably just a couple of tires blowing off.”

Fire investigators attended the scene and had left by 11:00 this morning.
