There were no injuries after a pick-up truck crashed into a Kamloops home around 9:30 p.m. yesterday.
Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says the truck had left the East Trans Canada Highway frontage road near River Road, and collided with a house in the 2300-block.
“After the collision, two men were seen running away from the vehicle and away from the area,” said Shelkie. “Witnesses were able to give the police officers a direction of travel, and through investigation both men were located a short time later.”
The 23-year-old driver, who appeared to be impaired, was given a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition, and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days. He’s also been charged for failing to remain at the scene of an accident and for not having a driver’s license.
“No charges against [the other person],” Shelkie confirmed.
She says there were three people in the house at the time, and they were all not injured, but there was substantial damage to both the house and the vehicle.
