A developer behind seniors housing on the Tranquille corridor says the units there are still on track to open next spring.
Joshua Knaak of Arpa Investments says the 43 units at Spirit Square are expected to open in March.
He was asked about the development plan happening at that block.
“Well phase one is just wrapping up. We’ve got kitchen cabinets going in, flooring going in, and that’s primarily affordable housing for seniors,” he said. “And phase two is just getting underway, we’re hoping a couple weeks away from having a building permit on that. We’re going to be digging this year.”
Knaak says Spirit Square will also have 7,000 square feet of ground floor commercial space and he says multiple businesses are already looking to move in.
“We’re working with a bakery right now that wants to open up operations in there,” he noted. “A distillery, and a few other businesses that are going to really add to the cool culture of that neighborhood.”
Knaak says a building permit should be issued next month for Phase 2 of the housing at the Square – which will include 38 condo units.
“Excited to have launched the sales on that a few weeks ago. Including a couple really neat two-storey units with rooftop patios that actually are engineered for hot tubs,” Knaak said. “So you can enjoy life for effectively the sixth level of this building.”
